Björn Franke is a designer and design theorist who studied at the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts and Design and the Royal College of Art, where he is completing a PhD in Design Interactions. He currently teaches design theory at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, the Zurich University of the Arts and the Royal College of Art. He was awarded fellowships at the Akademie Schloss Solitude and the Artist Residency Schloss Balmoral and his work has been exhibited and published internationally, most recently at the opening exhibition of the Design Museum in Holon. His research interests lie in the relationship between design, technology and philosophy; in particular, how the shifting technological environment alters human behaviour, relationships and self-conceptions.
